Summary:APU GTCP85 of Boeing 737-300/400/500 PT. XYZ fleet has functionally failed 2726 times during period of January 2003 until December 2004. This values is considered too large. Reliability analysis of APU components shows that the cause of the functional failures is a low reliability of components. Furthermore, the use of improper APU ratio factor is suspected as the source of the ineffectiveness of maintenance program. Analysis APU ratio factor between 2003–2004 shows that it is 27% more than the correct value. This research uses Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to increase the effectiveness of troubleshooting process where one or a combination of the 23 components as the source of the functional failures.
