At the late of 1990s has born a new instrument in mapping world which based on 3D laser mapping. This instrument use laser when scanning so its more populer wiyh the name 3D laser scanner. Recently laser scanner aplication become more populer, one of that is for offshore oil platform construction measurement. Data processing of Zakum platform measurement result an 3 dimension (3D) model of offshore platform with surface acuracy at each part of the structure is less than 6 mm. This model give a very big contribution for the advance analysis of structure and piping. <br />
