This research is based on the empirical experience in many countries that indicates the success of industrial district, which occur because the existence of collective efficiency is running on optimally. Collective efficiency itself can be defined as the profit which is gained from the involvement between work unit as the result of joint action in order to decrease economic external cost that come up (Marshall in Schmitz, 1995: 535). Jepara industrial district wooden furniture has been chosen as research area. This industrial district is a few area from many other industrial clusters in Indonesia that can be classified success and developed relatively well. It is hoped the description of collective efficiency that can be seen in this area become a measurement of the successful in developing industrial cluster in Indonesia so in the right time it could be classified as industrial district which obviously able to improve people prosperity.<p>In order to describe collective efficiency phenomena that occurred, this research used some approaches. Literature study has been used to comprehend the collective efficiency concept and to explore both variable and indication that can be used, the trend analysis that has been qualitative and quantitative data from field survey, and comparative analysis to compare the success of industrial district in other countries like sinos valley shoes industry in Brazil. This approach has been applied in four villages in Jepara, which have its own characteristic products and the product intensity relatively high. The four villages are Sukodono, Tahunan, Mulyoharjo, and Karanggondang. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> According to the approaches, the collective efficiency forms have been developed well. The developing of collective efficiency start from the supplying raw materials (like the organization of timber trader), joint marketing both horizontally and vertically, joint training, joint fund exertion, and joint supplying facility (such as the improvement of trade road quality and the handling labor supply) that either develop in forms which has been planned (like through the organization) or unplanned (informally).<p>Based on the basically forms that occurred it is found out that collective efficiency in Jepara wooden furniture industrial district has good prospect especially in the develop villages that have established marketing network. Several important points have to be considered to push the collective efficiency development which are the need of the entrepreneurship spirit (innovation), the emphasize of social capital accumulation, the need to study from the past, and the specific comprehend to characteristic product. <br />
