Summary:Two microwave filters which used in GPS receiver with centre frequencies of 1,575.42 MHz (filter LI) and 1,227.6 MHz (filter L2) are designed and realized. Combline bandpass filter type is used in a form of slabline. The material chose is aluminum with air dielectric. The characteristic of filter attenuation has been design based on Butterworth prototype for filter L1 and Tchebyscheff for filter L2. To determinate the self capasitance and coupling capasitance of the filter, the equations from G.L Matthaei are applied, where as the dimensional design of filter is based on study of E.G Cristal. Measured characteristics show that the real steepness factor is greater than designed. There for, correction factor for design steepness, is required.
