Summary: | Jatigede dam developement is the government program to overcome the drought at the dry season and the flood at the wet season in the Northern Coastal area Of West Jawa. The developement has already started since 1963. It has been postphoned for several times, then in 2004 the government has been continued it again. The dam area will cover about 4.841, 13 ha of 26 villages in 5 district, including a lot of settlement and education facilities.<p>There are about 5 units of kindergarten, 21 units of elementary school, and 4 units of Junior High school located in the flooded area. This condition will affect to the sustainability of educational activities. Therefore, this studi aim is counting the optimum number of the lost education facilities replacement, so that the teaching learning process can be continued.<p>Inductive method is applied to reach the aim of study. In order to obtain the various alternative consideration, in the analysis of the school requirements used 3 kinds standard such as National Education Department standard, Cipta Karya of Public Work Departement standard, and the Regional Spatial Planning of Sumedang Regency standard. School capacity analysis is also applied to obtain the more real school requrement which included four steps of education such as kindergarten, Elementary School, Junior High School and Senior High School.<p>The analysis result has concluded that the replacement of the lost education facilities is not as many as the lost. The replacement of the lost kindergarten must be preceded by enhancing school age participation. There is only a unit of Elementary School which has tobe replaced, and one other require class room addition. The same as handeling the lost Elementary School, there are two units of Junior High School replacement, but there is a zone will be isolated by the flooded area need to be built a unit of one roof school. There is no Senior High School which located in flooded area. <br />
