One of common application is in a control system of autonomous vehicle, whether to detect a barrier object, to control vehicle's movement or to track the target object.<p align="justify"><p>In this research, digital image processing algorithms are implemented in order to produce an output that can be used for rocket control system. The goal is rocket can detect the direction of target movement and follow it. There are few algorithm used in this research including segmentation, morphology and feature extraction of target object. Segmentation based on object color is implemented with color thresholding function, while segmentation based on object area is implemented with particle filter function. Convex hull as a morphology algorithm is inserted between those segmentation algorithms to do a closing for discontinue particle. Center of mass feature is extracted with particle analysis function and informations about object position and velocity are sent to control system after estimation process by Kalman filter.<p align="justify"><p>Those algorithms are implemented using LabVIEW software especially Vision Development module and image processor CVS 1454 that are produced by NATIONAL INTRUMENTS. The results from this research show that image processing system can detect the target object based on its color, area size and its position relative to the center of camera. On integration stage, rocket model can follow the object movement even the error still relatively high because of instability of rocket model. text
