This has pushed many researches to seek renewable energy sources. One of the alternatives for energy sources that has been found and being researched intensively is water. The use of water to generate electricity has been responded by many countries in the world, including Indonesia. One of the researches that has been carried out is a research on generating electricity by water on pico scale (picohydro) to fulfill the household need for electricity. The benefits of the picohydro are cheap and the spare parts are easily found in the market. Unfortunately, the efficiency of the picohydro is still small. Therefore the final project purpose is to raise the performance of this picohydro so that society can use the picohydro with high efficiency to fulfill their daily needs. This final project is started with characteristic analysis of picohydro to find the part from picohydro which need to be repaired. The picohydro then would be repaired and tested to know the new picohydro characteristics. The picohydro characteristics that we need to know are efficiency, input power, output power, generator RPM, output voltage, water flow, and current. The test run in two condition, with battery and without battery. text
