Description
Summary:2D photonic crystal structures with cylinder in triangular lattice were investigated. Research was done with MPB and Meep as the tool. From MPB calculations, frequencies in material were found. Plot of frequency as function of wave vector shows the existence of photonic band gap at fc/a between 0.197 and 0.269, 0.361 and 0.447, 0.536 and 0.614 for triangular lattice A, 0.180 and 0.266, 0.361 and 0.447, 0.536 and 0.614 for triangular lattice B. Anomalous refractive effects, i.e. negative refraction index and multiple refraction were found at fc/a 0.535 with incidence angle 0 degrees-14.5721 degrees (multiple refraction with negative refraction) then 58.33850-900 (multiple refraction with common refraction) for triangular lattice B and at fc/a 0.530 with incidence angle 0 degrees-58.4974 degrees (negative refraction) for triangular lattice A. Value of transmission and reflection coefficient for fc/a between 0 and 1 were calculated. It is found that photonic band gap has transmission constant 0. These results are in excellent agreement with the previous study on the electromagnetik wave propagation in two-dimensional photonic crystal.
