| Summary: | A study on the daily activity patterns in the troops and the population of the lutong (Presbytis cristata sondaica Robb. and Rloss 1919) has been carried out between January to March 1988 in the sub-montane forests Kamojang at an altitude of about 1500-1800 m. The result of the census showed that 20 animals at the local population in 320 h study area and the population density was about 6,25 animals/km². That population within which three groups and group size of the lutong varied from 4 to 8 animals and the home range size about 27,5-31.0 ha. The daily activity patterns were observed with the scanning method at 10 minute intervals. The analysized of that daily activity consist of 21.6% for moving, 33.2% for feeding and 42.5% for resting. Daily activity on the high tree strata from ground consist of 7.59 % at less than 10 m, 62.55% between 10-20 m and 29.86% at more than 20 in. The inventories and identification of the food plants of the lutong consumed consist of 42 species in 31 familia. |
