The displacement mechanism can be determined by using Buckley-Leverett equation and CO2 continuity equation.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> In this displacement process two shock fronts will occurred. The objective of this final project is to determine saturation in that front with Rankine-Hugoniot condition and estimate oil displacement efficiency. Some numeric simulations using oil sample from oil field X-1 are obtained. Simulation result showed that increasing concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) will increase front saturation and oil displacement efficiency. From oil sample X-1, carbonated water flood injection can raise production up to 80% depending on concentration rate. text |
