Summary: | The sea surface height variation is affected by the gravitation of the objects in outer space especially Moon and Sun. This will occur the tidal force that makes the sea surface position dynamics. To know how much is the tidal force by doing the tidal observation in certain interval of time. The tidal data can be used to determine the sea surface trend (variation of sea surface position model) which is applicated in the lowest sea surface prediction (LAT).
Low astronomical tide (LAT) is the lowest sea surface which is predicted by doing tide observation in long interval of time. The long time observation can make high percentage of certainty to determine the LAT which has been counted the effect of the position of Moon and Sun. This thesis using tidal data from the northern coast of Jakarta with the interval 5 years (1995-2000). The prediction of LAT is by search the mean value of monthly and annual sea surface variation. And then, we can predict from the trend model.
The result is that the input through the observation LAT tidal can analyze modeled trends after sea front position during the 5 years are divided into two periods. Analysis of monthly variations in trend is different with the results of the annual analysis, in which the annual analysis more accurate than the monthly. In the period 1995 - 1997 static position faces the sea is the lowest occurred in March 1996 and in the period 1998 - 1999 static sea front position lowest occurred in January 1999. From the results of the analysis concluded that the trend is the long period of tidal observation, the more accurate prediction in determining the LAT. |
