Description
Summary:This study aims to investigate the types of women’s linguistic features emerged in the utterances of Greta Thunberg as the guest star in an interview video, the most frequently feature and the function of each feature used. This study used theory of Coates (2013) to analyze the types of women’s linguitic features emerged from the data. This study used qualitative approach because there is no any numeric data involved. The finding reveals that there are five out of seven women’s linguistic features emerged including the use of minimal responses, hedges, questions, commands and directives, and swearing and taboo language. Hedge (61%) is the most frequently feature used while swear and taboo language (1%) is the least frequently feature used. The function of the features found is to show that she is uncertain with her statements, to respect the listener, and to express her emotion.
