The antimicrobial potency of endophytes is proven by the diversity and activity of secondary metabolite compounds. The ability of endophytes to inhibit various pathogens cannot be separated from the host plant as a source of endophytic microbial isolation. One of the well-known plant groups for treating various diseases is Zingiberaceae family. Research on the diversity and biological activity of endophytic microbes from Zingiberaceae has been widely reported, therefore this paper will discuss about the correlation between the types and parts of Zingiberaceae plants with the diversity and antimicrobial activity. The results of our literature study, about 1400 species belonging to the Zingiberaceae family, only 13 species were investigated for the presence of endophytic microbes, along with their potential as antimicrobial agents. More than 50 secondary metabolite compounds with antimicrobial activity produced by endophytes from Zingiberaceae have been reported. Those compounds are classified as fatty acids, coumarins, phenolic acids, phenylpropanoids, flavonoids, terpenoids, quinones, and steroids. This paper also discusses the regulation and production of antimicrobials also strategies for optimizing product gained from endophytic microbes. This paper is expected to provide insight and a reference for future research in the pharmaceutical field. 2021 Thesis NonPeerReviewed text en http://repository.unair.ac.id/110241/4/1.%20Title%20Page.pdf text en http://repository.unair.ac.id/110241/1/2.%20Abstract.pdf text en http://repository.unair.ac.id/110241/2/3.%20Chapter%20I.pdf text en http://repository.unair.ac.id/110241/3/4.%20Chapter%20II.pdf text en http://repository.unair.ac.id/110241/8/5.%20Chapter%20III.pdf text en http://repository.unair.ac.id/110241/5/6.%20Chapter%20IV.pdf text en http://repository.unair.ac.id/110241/7/7.%20References.pdf text en http://repository.unair.ac.id/110241/6/Permohonan%20embargo.pdf Erna Kristiana Dewi, - (2021) Review Article Antimicrobial Agent Produced By Endophytic Microbes From Zingiberaceae.
