to analyzing the exploitation toward the lower class society who lives in overpopulated Earth in Elysium movie. Marxist theory is considered the most appropriate because it discusses about the exploitation toward lower class. The writer would analyze how a capitalist system can ruin the lower class society's life through exploitations and how they fight against it. This is a qualitative research and this study is done by analyzing selected scenes which focus on the main
character Max da Costa who exploited by ruling class. The analysis does not only cover about narrative aspect, but also non-narrative aspects such as shot and angle. Furthermore, data analysis consists of descriptive qualitative by using
Marxist theory. This study is necessary to let readers see that exploitation in lower class society does exist in literary work so that readers more concern with exploitation issue around them. From this study, the writer indicate that exploitation is one of capitalist’s system effects which affects to lower class
society's (proletarian) in their social life. Based on the analysis this study has resulted some findings of exploitations toward the lower class society (proletarian), there are: labors slavery, capitalist’s ideology, and corporatocracy system. |
