III program, English Department, Faculty of Humanities, Airlangga University, Surabaya, year 2008/2009. Those were the quiz examination that is chosen by using random sampling. This discussion is limited to four types of errors: omission, addition, misinformation, misordering suggested by Dulay, Burt, and Krashen (1982). The discussion in this thesis uses Error Analysis theory suggested by Corder. According to Corder (1973), there are three steps of error analysis: recognition, description, and explanation of errors. The kinds of errors recognized in this study are omission, addition, and misinformation. While misordering errors are not found from the data. While based on the frequency of errors from the most
to the least are misinformation, omission, and addition. The presentation of the data showed that the most frequent of errors is misinformation (505 errors) followed by omission (213 errors), and addition (66 errors). |
