In gaining the data, the writer used her hand phone to record the conversations between female students of English Department while gossiping in Airlangga University especially in Faculty of Humanities. The finding shows that the most frequently gossip functional categories that occurred while gossiping is scandal. Scandal is behavior of women who always criticize other women especially in appearance and attitude. On the other hand the most frequently conversational features which occurred while gossiping is questions.
