This study focuses on the analysis of Abdullah Gymnastiar or commonly known as Aa’ Gym’s way in giving response to the question given by the host of Kick Andy. The aim of this study is to reveal whether Aa’ Gym used of figurative speech in his response. The talk show was chosen in order to directly listen to Aa’ Gym opinion’s about his polygamy issue. All of the Aa’ Gym utterances were analyzed critically by using the figurative speech such as euphemism, metaphor, repetition, and simile. The results of the study show that there are some figurative speech used by Aa’ Gym in giving some explanation about polygamy issue such as using euphemism, metaphor, repetition, and simile for certain utterance.
