Porcelain fused to metal (PFM) is a material used to make the prosthodontic fixed bridge and Nickel-chromium alloy is the common choice of metal used in PFM. The bond between resin cement and alloy itself can be increased mechanically by sandblasting the alloy surface. Metal primer is used to give chemical adhesion between resin cement and alloy, but the effect of metal primer application on the shear bond strength between resin cement and sandblasted NiCr alloy is still unknown. Purpose. To evaluate the effect of metal primer on shear bond strength between sandblasted NiCr alloy and resin cement Material and Method Total 14 NiCr alloy samples were divided into two groups, which were sandblasted with alumminium oxide 100 pm. Group 1 is treated with metal primer before cemented. Group 2 is cemented directly. Shear testing was performed on SHIMADZU autograph using a cross-head speed of 0.5 mm/minute. The data were analyzed with independent t-test. Result. The mean and standard deviation (in kN) obtained for each group was: 1: 0,172/0,0266; 2: 0,117/0,0202. Conclusion.
