Summary:This thesis is a study of Ibsen's play, Hedda Gabler. Ibsen is one of modern dramatist of realism. His work, Hedda Gabler which written in 1890 is one of his works which belongs to the third phase of his work. The theme of this phase runs to the development from an expressly social or moralist or problematical mode of drama to more psychological, a more visionary and more symbolic sytle. Dealing with that theme, the writer of this thesis would like to find out. that there is the self-individualism and its effect in the play, Hedda Gabler.
