Perbedaan Antara Jumlah Koloni Candida Albicans Pada Gigi Tiruan Bahan Dasar Resin Akrilik Dan Poliamida
Background. The dentures used by patients are usually overgrowned by various microorganisms, and Candida albicans are among others. The adherence of them on the denture is caused by the surface roughness and porosity of the denture basic material. Polyamide has surface roughness more than acrylic re...

The adherence of them on the denture is caused by the surface roughness and porosity of the denture basic material. Polyamide has surface roughness more than acrylic resin. Purpose. The aim of this research was to compare the number of Candida albicans colonies in acrylic resin and polyamide based material dentures. Method. This experimental laboratory study was using unpolished heat cured acrylic resin and polyamide based material with IOxIOxlmm dimension. Each group consists of7 samples. All samples were contaminated with Candida albicans using Saboroud's broth media and Saboroud's dextrose agar. After 48 hours incubated in 3'r C temperature, the colonies number were counted (cJulml). The data tabulated and analyzed using Ttest. Results. The result of statistic analyses showed there was significant difference number of Candida albicans colonies with p= 0.0000 (p>0.05) among denture with acrylic resin based material and polyamide based material. Conclusion. It is concluded that, the number of Candida albicans with acrylic resin is lower than polyamide based material. 2010 Thesis NonPeerReviewed text en https://repository.unair.ac.id/119053/1/KKA%20KK%20KG%2099%2011%20SEL%20P.pdf Silvi Kusuma W (2010) Perbedaan Antara Jumlah Koloni Candida Albicans Pada Gigi Tiruan Bahan Dasar Resin Akrilik Dan Poliamida.
