Curcumin Menurunkan Ekspresi Nuclear Factor-KB Plasenta dan Kadar Malondealdehid Serum Pada Mus Musculus Model Preeklampsia

Objective: Curcumin, derived from the plant Curcuma that is a commonly used not only as spice but also as medicinal plants. Curcumin has been shown to exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflamatory, and anti-platelet. These effects are mediated through the regulation of various transcription factors, infl...

Curcumin has been shown to exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflamatory, and anti-platelet. These effects are mediated through the regulation of various transcription factors, inflamatory cytokines, protein kinase, and other enzimes. Thus, has a potential against oxidative stress-related and injlamatory illness, Preeclampsia. This study compare NF-KB expression and malonedialdehide assesment (as a marker of oxidative stress gradation) between preeklamptic mice model treated with two different dose curcumin and control. Method: Experimental study, randomized controlled double blind controlled trial. Three mice groups, preeklamptic induced by injection of anti-Qa2 antibody. One group treated with 100 mg/kgBW of curcumin, other group with 240 mg/kgBW of curcumin, and one control group (aquades as plasebo). Those treatment given daily until 14 days. The mice were sacrificed, placentas were taken for NF-KB expression assesment with immunohistochemistry staining method, the serums were taken for malonedialdehide assesment. Result: There are significant differences in NF -KB assesment between group treated with 100 mg/kgBW of curcumin and control (1,5111±0,2922), group treated with 240 mg/kgBW of curcumin and control (1, 0000 0,2922). But there is no significant difference between group treated by 100 mg/kgBW of curcumin and group treated by 240 mg/kgBW of curcumin (-0,5111±0,2922). There are significant differences in malonedialdehide amount between group treated with 100 mg/kgBW of curcumin and control (mean difference 2, 7320±0,3042), group treated with 240 mg/kgBW of curcumin and control (mean difference 3,5334±0,2612), between group treated with 100 mglkgBW of curcumin and group treated with 240 mg/kgBW of curcumin (mean difference 0,8014±0,1624). Conclusion: Curcumin decrease NF-KB expression and malonedialdehide amount in preeklamptic mice model. The decreasing is dose dependent. At dose 240 mglkgBW, curcumin might have pro-oxidant effect that cause decreasing of curcumin antioxidant activity . 2010 Thesis NonPeerReviewed text id https://repository.unair.ac.id/120577/1/KK%20KKA%20TKR%2003-11%20Din%20%20c.pdf Dina Priliasanti S, - (2010) Curcumin Menurunkan Ekspresi Nuclear Factor-KB Plasenta dan Kadar Malondealdehid Serum Pada Mus Musculus Model Preeklampsia.
