Description
Summary:The aim of this study was to know the effect of epinephrine and cortisol on platelets count and prothrombine time. This study used the pretest - posttest control group design and used one year old male Oryctolagus cuniculus rabbits. Analysis unit platelet count (4t1) and prothrombine time (sec) were measured. Treatment given only once, addition of epinephrine (0,01 mg/mlikg BW) and conisol (0,4 mg/mlikg BW). The pretest data taken 3 hours before treatment and the posttest data be taken 15 and 30 minutes (15' and 30') after treatment. Result showed : on Epinephrine group, there was significant difference on platelet count variable between Pre & 15' (p = 0,017) and between 15' & 30' (p = 0,047); probably significant difference on prothrombine time variable between Pre & 15' (p = 0,05C). On Cortisol group : there was probably significant different between 15' & 30' on platelet count variable (p = 0,050), and significant different between Pre & 30' on prothrombine time variable. The result suggested that Epinephrine and Cortisol can decreased platelet count and prothrombine time, but no difference between them on platelets count variable, while on prothrombine time variable there was significant difference (p 0,023).
