Summary:The aim of this research it was to give health education related to smoking. A case related to smoking behavior were delivered to a group of teenagers age 15-16 to be discussed. This research uses experimental quasy design with pre-test and post-test control group. The population is male student of 17 Senior High School Surabaya. The sample is derived by simple random sampling. The independent variable is peer group discussion and the dependent variable was the knowledge, attitude and action. The data collection in this study uses quesioner. More over, the quesioner is going to be analyzed by using statistic test, Mann Whitney Test, Paired Sample T Test and Independent T Test with a significance of P <0.05. The results of statistical tests Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed no influence of peer group discussion on knowledge (p = 0.015 treatment group and control group p = 0.317). attitude (p = 0.025 treatment group and control group p = 1.000). statistical test Mann Whitney U Test also showed differences between the treatment and control groups on the level of knowledge (p = 0.008) and attitude (p = 0.037). peer group discussion also affect the action of Paired Sample T Test (treatment group p = 0.000) and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test (control group p = 0.102). Independent Sample T Test also showed a difference between treatment and control groups (p = 0.002). Peer group discussion gives influence toward the teenagers attitude of smoking. Through the discussion with schoolmates, teenagers will feel more pleasant in showing their arguments, so that they can share the information about smoking. Knowledge of respondent that increase, the number of cigarettes they have been smoked are decreased and have positive response. Further researches are expected to used the more interesting method in order to gain the appropriate result.
