Summary: | The main problem of older people (Middle Age) is joint pain. Study about walking exercise was expressed could reduce the complaint of joint pain in older people. The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of walking exercise to complaint of joint pain in older people (Middle Age). Pre experimental study design was used in this study. The population were all older people with joint pain who fulfill inclution criteria in Ngipik Village. The sample was recruited using purposive sampling consists of 12 respondents. Before the main of walking exercise, start with warming up, and stretching then the last cooling down. Data were collected with observation paper and questioner. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with significant level p _0,005. from 12 respondents, there were 10 respondents fell joint pain reducing. The Statistic result showed that there were significant differences on joint pain after walking exercise (p=0,008). The conclusion of these study was walking exercise can reduce the complaint of joint pain in older people (Middle Age), because walking exercise can increase the power of muscles, around the joint and reduce the chondrosit pressure. Further experiment should involve larger respondents and longer time to obtain more accurate results. |
