The objective of this study is examined the effect of progressive relaxation to utenne smooth muscle contraction, blood pressure, and pulse. Design used in this study was quas-y experimental. Total sample taken by purposive sampling was 20 respondents, divided into a group of control and experiment. The uterine smooth muscle contraction (frequency and duration), blood pressure, and pulse, 4NRessecl in pre-posil-post2 were recorded with a partograph and observation paper. Data were than analyzed using one-way ANOVA, T-test, and Friedman test with level of significance of 0,05. The frequency of uterine smooth muscle contraction in the .roup of experiment increased after intervention (p- (WON; in the group of control did not changed in postl-post2 =19,084 The duration of uterine smooth muscle contraction increased after pre-post I -post2 (p=(1.000; p =0.0,001) both in group of control and experiment, Blood pressure decreased after post l in the group of experiment (p=0,000), and in the group of control remains unchanged. Mother pulse decreased both in group of control and experiment 0-0,0001. The onset of labor active phase was expressed at a shorter length of time in the group of experiment than in the group of control ip-0,001). In conclusion, there is different expression in uterine smooth muscle contraction, blood pressure, pulse, and onset of labor active phase in relation to progressive relaxation technique therapy. The increased of uterine smooth muscle contraction in group of control may present as an effect of physiologic process of labor. The continuous implementation of progressive relaxation technique during labor was suggested to gain better result. 2005 Thesis NonPeerReviewed text id https://repository.unair.ac.id/122107/1/TIYAS%20KUSUMANINGRUM%20010110255B.pdf Tiyas Kusumaningrum, - (2005) Efek Teknik Relaksasi Progresif Terhabap Frekuensi His, Durasi His, Tekanan Darah, Dan Nadi Pada Ibu Inpartu Kala I Ease Aktif.
