Description
Summary:Controlling number of population by family planning program could help the government to increase society benefit. IUD is one of the long term contraception methods that effective to prevent pregnancy, however number of IUD acceptors decrease from year to year. At Batumarmar village, most of society was afraid for hiring IUD. There are a lot of factors associated with these outcomes. This research was aimed to analysis correlation between experience, knowledge, emotion (anxiety), belief with acceptor’ perception of contraceptive method at Batumarmar village Pamekasan. Design used in this study was cross sectional design. The population was acceptors’current contraceptive method at Batumarmar Village. Purposive sampling was used to take the sample. Total sample were 139 respondents, taken according to inclusion criteria. The independent variables were experience, knowledge, emotion (anxiety), belief. The dependent variables was acceptor’ perception of contraceptive method. Data was collected using structured questionnaire and were analysed using chi square and Spearman’s Rho with level of significant α≤0.05. The result showed that experience had correlated with acceptor’perception of contraceptive method (p=0,000). Emotion (anxiety) had correlated with acceptor’perception of contraceptive method (p=0,006). Knowledge level hadn’t correlated with acceptor’perception of contraceptive method (p=0,093). Belief hadn’t correlated with acceptor’perception of contraceptive method (p=0,669). It is recommended acceptor should get right and clear information from health worker to decrease wrong perception. The health worker should have commitment to provide adequate information about method of contraceptive specifically for IUD, give awareness and convince to society that IUD one of method contraceptive that can be choosen by them. It could stop negative image about IUD and improve the acceptor for choosing method of IUD
