Description
Summary:Lepra is a global problem. Frightened by great deal of people up to present because of screamy face, mutilation of hands finger and feet as well, ulcus is disgusting and unrecovered so that sufferer goes dissable for whole life. This chase caused the stigma of people. This reseach was conducted to comprehand the influence of contact intensive (modification) to the action the people refering to stigma of leprae sufferer at Arosbaya public health centre, Bangkalan Regency. This study used Pre-experimental design with simple random sampling. Samples observed consisted of 93 respondents collected by queisioner. The independent variable was contact intensive (modification) and the dependent variable were knowledge and attitude. The collected data were analyzed by Willcoxon Test with alpha 0.05. The result showed significant change in knowledge (p = 0.000), indicated the contact intensive (modification) had effect on the change of knowledge. The result on attitude showed no significant result (p4).381). This indicated that contact intensive (modification) had no effect on the change of attitude. The conclusion, contact intensive (modification) given in two-way communication may increase knowledge, but has no effect on the change of attitude. Further studies need more contact intensif (modification) to change the stigma that still prevails in the community.
