In some region of Indonesia, this disease is an endemic disease, that spread rapidly and attacked cattle, buffaloes, horses and goats. Because of this disease, we suffered a lot of economic loss. The control of this disease is very difficult, because Trypanosoma parasites have the ability to change the surface of antigen characteristic during the infected host. It is the developed strategy to avoid the immune response. The change of the antigen characteristic surface the antigenic variant. That is the series result of different antigenics between Trypanosoma population on the fixed time. This research intends to identity and characteristize T evansi antigenic variant isolated from the acute and chronic mice phase. It is known that antigenic variant can be used as the indication of the disease intensity (acute or chronic) to support the diagnosis. The research used go mice (mus musculus) strain BALM devided into three groups each consists of 20 mice on an acute phase inoculated by 106 T evansi, 20 mice in minor chronic phase and 20 severe chronic mice inoculated by 103 T. evansi. After indicating acute and chronic clinical simptoms, we isolated parasites from the blood. And than we calculated parasitemia and characterized antigenic protein with SDS — PAGE (Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate Polyacrylamid Gel Electroforesis) Method. The result of this research showed that there was the real different (p < 0,05) about the number of parasitemia between mice on the acute and chronic phases. There was a description of different protein fraction bands on electrophorese gel between acute and chonic phase. The different can be used as indication of the imunologic intensity of a desease. 2001 Thesis NonPeerReviewed text en https://repository.unair.ac.id/122603/1/TI%2004-01%20HAM%20k_compressed.pdf Iwan Sahrial Hamid, - (2001) The Characterization Of Trypanosoma Evansi Antigenic Variant Isolated Result Of Mice On Acute And Chronic Phases.
