Battra Akupresur Dapat Menurunkan Tekanan Darah Pada Lansia Dengan Hipertensi

Hypertension is one of the health problem which often occurs in elderly. Acupressure Traditional Medicine represents non pharmacological medication from China that have been practiced to overcome various diseases including hypertension. This study was aimed to analyze the influence to change of blood pressure in elderly with hypertension. Design used in this study was quasy experimental design. The population was elderly with hypertension in "Bahagia" elderly nursing home Magetan. The number of research sample were 16 respondents, taken according to inclusion criteria. There were 8 respondents in experiment group and 8 respondents in control group. The independent variable was acupressure traditional medicine. The dependent variable was blood pressure, by using a sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. Data were analyzed using paired t test and independent T test with level of significance 0,05. The result showed that acupressure traditional medicine had significant influence to change of blood pressure (decreased). Experiment group showed the result of paired t test at systolic blood pressure (p=O,OOO 1) and diastolic blood pressure (p=0,002). Control group showed result of paired t test at systolic blood pressure (p=O, 711) and diastolic blood pressure (p=O. 711 ). Result of independent T test between post test control group and post test experiment group showed at systolic blood pressure (p=0,0001) and diastolic blood pressure (p=0,008). It can be concluded that there are significant influence of acupressure traditional medicine to changing (decreasing) blood pressure in elderly with hypertension. Further studies should involve larger respondents, longer time, and taking sample with hypertension sekunder in all age.
