Summary:Breast Self Exam (BSE) is a way in doing early detect in breast cancer. The students given health education by using two methods, demonstration method and audio visual method. Demonstration method can change the student’s behaviour by role model. Audio visual methods is one of health education methods that use electronic media to change behaviour in students. The aims of this research to identify the effectivity of health education about Breast Self Exam (BSE) between demonstration method and audio visual method. This research used quasy exsperimental design. The population of this research was female teenagers age between 16 to 17 years old. The samples were 36 respondents taken by simple random sampling. The independent variable are demonstrasion method and audio visual method. Dependent variable is the changing behavior in female teenagers. The data were collected trough questionnaire and observation. Pretest and posttest were analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and effectivity demonstration with audio visual method used Mann Whitney U Test, with significant level p ≤ 0,05. The result of this research showed that there was an increasing in knowledge, attitude, and practice. In this group, the knowledge in female teenagers had significant level (p=0,002) on demonstration method and audio visual. The attitude for demonstration group (p=0,002) and for audio visual group (p=0,003). Knowledge had significant value (p=0,000) on demonstration method and audio visual. The attitude (p=1,000) on demonstration method and audio visual. For practice after one week given health education on demonstration method and audio visual get (p=0,000). Health education about Breast Self Exam (BSE) using demonstration methods and audio visual methods increased knowledge, attitude and practice. So this intervention is very important for female teenagers in senior high school to improve their knowledge, attitude, and practice.
