Summary:"Child development is a thing that should get more attention by the parents, given the role of parents in the process of development of children, especially child's independence. The importance of independence the child begins to implant an early stage so that children can get used to living independently and not rely in resolving the problems faced in later. The objective of this study was to analyzed the correlation between family parenting with autonomy child pre school level 4-6 years of age in TK Dharma Wanita of Gelam village Sidoarjo district. The design of this study was correlational design with cross sectional method. The selected population was all families of students who attend school in TK Dharma Wanita of Gelam village Sidoarjo district, total 59 families. The collected sample was population that fulfills the inclusion criteria 24 respondents participated in this study which taken by using cluster random sampling technique. The independent variable was family parenting of pre school children aged 4-6 years and the dependent variable was autonomy level of pre school children aged 4-6 years. The data for family parenting and autonomy level of pre school children aged 4-6 years were collected using questionnaire and guided interview with content analysis. In this study has found that the result that the majority of families using a democratic parenting in educating children. In addition, also found that the level of independence the majority of children in this study is independent. The research result was presented in diagram form, table of cross tabulation and analyzed with Spearman Rho with significance level a~ 0,01. Result showed that family parenting had significant correlation with autonomy level of pre school children aged 4-6 years (a = 0,000). It can be concluded that family parenting has correlation with autonomy level of pre school children aged 4-6 years. And for subsequent research that needs to be returned from parents about factors that tend to be subjective in their children."
