Summary:Atraumatic care is a therapeutic treatment was given by health workers on pediatric care. It can reduce stress physical or psychological stress on children and their parents. Stress hospitalized is a crisis condition on child that was cured in hospital. The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between nurse behavior in atraumatic care with stress hospitalization of preschool children (3-5 years old) at Wijaya Kusuma ward RSUD Dr. Iskak Tulungagung. Correlational study was used in this study. The population was all nurse in Wijaya Kusuma ward. The samples were 20 respondents who met the inclusion criteria, while the sample of preschool children who stayed in ward, sample were taken by using purposive sampling. The independent variable was nurse behavior and the dependent variable was hospitalized stress, the data was collected using questionnaire and observation, then analized using spearman rank with significant level α ≤ 0,05. The result reveals that there is correlation between knowledge and stress hospitalization with p= 0,033 and r= 0,477. Attitude has not correlation to stress hospitalization with p= 0.482 and r= 0,167. Practice is also has correlation to stress hospitalization with p=0.009 and r= 0,567. It can be concluded that knowledge and practice has a correlation to stress hospitalization of preschool children (3-5 years old) but attitude has not correlation. Nurse’ve done atraumatic care but a preschool children still stress hospitalisasi suffered. Further studies that Hospital and nurse can optimize pediatric programs such as training, supervision, and workshop to reduce stress hopitalization.
