Summary:One among factors that influence lactation management was the role of health care provider in conducting health education. The aim of this study was to reveal the correlation of the role of health care provider in conducting health education to mothers lactation management at Flamboyan Ward RSUD Prof. Dr. W. Z. Johannes Kupang NTT. This research design was cross sectional. The population were all post partum at flamboyan ward. Total sample was 30 respondents, taken according to the inclusion criteria. The independent variable was the role of health care provider in conducting health education. The dependent variable was consists of lactation management (knowledge, attitudes and practice components). Data were collected using questionnaire and observation. Data was analyzed using the Spearman Rank Correlation test with level of significance α < 0.05. According to respondents, the role of health care provider was moderate. Most post partum mother has enough knowledge and have both positive and negative attitude component about lactation management. For practice component most mother has good score. Result showed that the role of health care provider in conducting health education significance correlated with knowledge component of lactation management (p = 0.00, r= 0.754). While both attitude and practice components of lactation management showed no correlation (pattitude= 0.803, rattitude= 0.048 ; practice= 0.091, practice= 0.314). This study concluded there was correlation between the role of health care provider with knowledge component of lactation management, while both attitude and practice of lactation management has no correlation. The good role of health care provider in conducting health education increase knowledge of lactation management in post partum mother, while the other component of lactation management such attitude and practice affected by other factor.
