It would do this by emphasising the balance between economic and environmental factors – an approach that is in line with the existing concept of Islamic finance. As a new field, research related to the green economy is still developing. This study attempts to provide quantitative information on this development. In total, Scopus lists 1183 papers, including journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers, on this subject, all produced between 1961 and 2021.
