Summary: | There are many issues to discuss works of literature satisfactorily. One of ultimate issue is Diaspora from postcolonial theory which one of its discussions is about the living of an immigrant and the following conflict of an immigrant in new land. Using qualitative method the writer collects data from book and online resource, this research has aim to dig deeply about displacement, unhomeliness, double consciousness, and hybridity shape main character's identity in this novel. From the issues mentioned above, this research is accomplished to investigate what factors that shape Liyana's identity in Palestine and how does Kamal Abboud help Liyana to estabalish Liyana's identity. This study finds that the result of people movement from homeland to host land is a new identity conflict of immigrants. In this study can be analyzed that Liyana and Kamal Abboud obtains the conflict of unhomeliness, ambivalence, double consciousness, and hybridity. From this study can be concluded that hybridity is the main factor of Liyana's conflict in Habibi. |
