Description
Summary:Rice straw was a good choice of agricultural waste used for animal feed ingredients during dry season, but rice straw itself has low nutrition feedstuff if compared with other forage feedings. A research about fermentation by xylanolitic bacteria on the rice straw has been done to enhance the rice straw quality. The treatment supposed to increase the dry matter and decrease the crude fiber, then it can be used for high-quality livestock feed. This study was used materials of rice straw and xylanolitic bacteria to break the complex bonds of the rice straw, and then it was subsequently fermented for seven days. The experimental design were four treatments and five replications consist of PO, PI, P2, P3 with doses of 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by analysis variant, if there was a real difference in these treatments, and then it was continued by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result of this study were the use of xylanolitic bacteria is not provided significant effect for dry matter content, but it could reduce the crude fiber content optimally at 10% of the dosage.
