Summary: | Diabetes Mellitus is a long life chronic disease that can not be cured but can be prevented and controlled through compliance controls. If negative words and perceptions in the mind cannot be avoided. it may continue to an emotional distress that may develop into psychological disorder (adjustment disorder) and worse the patient's condition, so that decrease self-efficacy. This study aimed to explain the correlation of self-efficacy and compliance of locus control in patient with Diabetes Mellitus. This study was a correlation study using cross sectional design. Populations were 137 patient with DM who come to visit at outpatient installation interne Dr Soegiri hospitallamongan on 7-22 January 2011. Samples were 48 patient taken by consecutive sampling according inclusion criteria. Independent variable was self efficacy. Dependent variable was compliance of locus control. Data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed using Chi square test. The results showed that there were a significant the correlation of selfefficacy and compliance oflocus control with p ~ 0.000. It can be concluded that increasing of self-efficacy was related to compliance of locus control in patient with Diabetes Mellitus. It is hoped that patient with Diabetes Mellitus have an ability to solve their problems and nursing service department can increase health education and counseling. |
