| Summary: | This research was aimed to know the effect of pomegranate extract on the value of hematocrit, erythrocyte and hemoglobin in the blood of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) in the process of acute renal failure. 24 male rats 2-3 months old with 150-200 gram body weight were grouped into four different treatment for seven days followed: PO group as a control group treated with CMC Na 0,3% and saline, P1 group treated with gentamycin and CMC Na 0,3%, P2 group treated with gentamycin and ellagic acid in CMC Na 0,3%, P3 group treated with gentamycin and pomegranate extract in CMC Na 0,3%. After seven days treatment, blood sample taken with intracardiac method. The value hematocrit, erythrocyte and hemoglobin in the blood were than measured using roller mixer with fotometer method. Based on the result of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan test, the value hematocrit, erythrocyte and hemoglobin test showed P0 has the significant effect to P 1, P2 and P3, but P 1, P2 and P3 not showed significant differences among treatmens. The pomegranate extract has no effect on the value hematocrit, erythrocyte and hemoglobin. |
