Summary:Adolescence is a transition period toward mature time period Adolescent are going through cognitive development which is they are starting to have plaus and thought to prepare their career later which is it absolutely related with their success during their adolescence. Success in adolescence represented by achievement in school. Motivation of achievement determines adolescent behavior in achieving their goal especially in school. Therefore, student must have motivation of achievement during study in order to keep attempting their aim. They are required to prepare their mature time period to become an independent individual. The objective of this research was to find out relationship of parenting style and motivation of achievement in adolescent This research was a cross sectional design. The subjects of this research were adolescent of 15-16 years of age who lived with parent in 8ooko 2 Ponorogo Senior High School. Sample was 38 respondents. Independent variable of this research was parenting style and dependent variable was motivation of achievement in adolescent Data were collected using questionnaire and were subsequently analyzed using Spearman's Rho Correlation Test with signifiamce value at Cl :5 0,05. Result of the analysis revealed an inexistence of correlation between parenting style and motivation of achievement in adolescent (p = 0,9(0). Family as first environment affects children growth and development. In this research, parenting style only has a very low influence in forming motivation of achievement. Application of parenting style in each fiunily affected by many factolS such as education, job and experience of parent. It detennines parent's capability and will in supporting their adolescent children appropriated with their development needs. Those what make differences in quality of each parenting style type.
