To overcome one of various problem in burn is by developing appropriate treatment method to enhance wound healing. One of this method is by washing burn or bathing the patients once for 3 or 4 days until the degree of burn wound is reducing. Wound washing by bathing may help enhancing healing since it may eradicate dirt or germs in the wound. They were swept by the flovv'ing water. This was a pre-experimental study comparing the effect of individuals subjected to bath. Population was all patients with burn wound grade I-nA<30% admitted to Central Operating Theatre, Dr. Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya, in August 2005. Total samples comprised 13 patients, taken according to inclusion criteria. The independent variable in this study was bathing, while the dependent variable was the effect of bathing, with the parameters as follows: epithe1ialization growth (percentage), wound treatment pain (pain degree), and infection. Data were taken using observation and check list. Data were analyzed using T -test, Friedman test, and Chi Square test with significance level of 0.05. Results showed that: 1) wound healing process showed p = 0.000 < 0.05, indicating significant difference in wound healing or epithelialization with bathing therapy. 2) pain treatment showed p = 0.000 < 0.05, showing significant difference in the reduction of pain treatment with bathing therapy, 3) the occurrence of infection could not be subjected to Chi Square test as the standard deviation was 0, showing non significant difference the occurrence of infection in bathing therapy. Infection did not occur due to the use of Savlon 1 : 30% as antiseptic. It could kill germs presented in burn wound. In conclusion, bathing therapy enhance wound healing and epithelialization, reducing pain treatment, and preventing infection. Wound washing by subjecting patients to bathing can be used as alternative for burn grade I, II, and III or wound that requires treatment, such as an extensive degloving excoriation. Further should involve larger respondents with better measuring instrument to obtain more accurate results." 2005 Thesis NonPeerReviewed text id https://repository.unair.ac.id/132083/1/87.%20010410393%20R.pdf NINA ASMINATIN, - (2005) EFEK MANDl TERHADAP PENYEMBUHAN LUKA BAKAR GRADE I-IIA <300 / 0 DI RUANG BEDAH GRSU Dr. SOETOMO SURABAYA.
