Summary:Leprosy is a chronic infection of the skin and peripheral nerves caused by Mycobacterium leprae. Clients leprosy experience disability, skin, feet, hands and fingers due to the loss of protective sensation of pain. Skin lesions are progressive and permanent physical disability triggers physical and psychological isolation on the client leprosy. Client received a negative impression of leprosy last a lifetime even after the client is cured. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of intervention on knowledge psychoeducative family, family support and the stigma of leprosy with a model approach Calgary. The research design used in this study is quasy experiment with the prepost test control two group design. Sampling techniques manner with non random purposive sampling. The sample used was the respondent and the respondent's family number 60. Respondents were divided into two groups: the intervention and comparison groups, each group of 30 people. Capturing patient data using questionnaires filled out by the respondent and family. Analysis of the data used is Wilcoxon signed rank test and Whitney man with a significance level of0.005. Results demonstrate knowledge (a:0:0,05, p = 0.001), family support (a:0:0,05, p = 0.001) and self-stigma (a:0:0,05, p = 0.001) after psycoeducative family therapy in the intervention group , In the comparison group showed knowledge (a:0:0,05, p = 0.01), family support (a:0:0,05, p = 0.001) and self-stigma ( a:0:0,05, p = 0.07). Results of statistical tests comparing the control group and the intervention group that is knowledge (a:0:0,05, p = 0.000), family support (a:0:0,05, p = 0.000) and self-stigma (a:0:0,05, p = 0.004 ). It was concluded that there are significant family psychoeducative to knowledge, family support and self-stigma. The most significant influence of variables contained in the knowledge and support of the family. Some respondents and families who do not experience an increase in the level of knowledge, family support and the stigma (self-stigma) due to the characteristics of respondents and some characteristics of the family system.
