Chronic complication involving the gastrointestinal tract are common in diabetes mellitus patients called diabetic gastroparesis. Supportive-educative nutrition will help patients and families to achieve adaptive behaviors and independence fulfillment of nutrients. The objective of the research was to analyze the effect of supportive-educative nutrition to diabetic gastroparesis patients and family support based on theory of adaptation. This research used quasy experimental with pre-post test design. Twenty four sample was recruited using purposive sampling at RSU Ibnu Sina. They were observed for family support, nutrition intake, clinical sign, and level of blood glucose post prandial. Data were processed using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, Afann-Whitney. Paired T-Test. Independent T-Test. Anova Same Subject and A nova Interaction 2 Factor with level of significant a < 0.05. Statistic results showed that there were significant differences in family support (p=0.005), nutrition intake (p=O.Ol5), gastroparesis clinical sign (p=O.OOO). There were no differences in the level of blood glucose post prandial (p=0.229). The development supportive-educative nutrition diabetic gastroparesis· based on theory adaptation could increase knowledge and acceptance patients and families about patients condition so that family support will increase and achieve adequate oral intake and decrease of clinical sign of gastroparesis. Further research should involve larger respondents and other instrument to obtain more accurate results.
