Summary: | Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is one of infectious diseases. Controlling and prevention of DHF is not optimal. It were caused by lack of knowledge, attitude and practice about the disease. The objective of this study was to analyze the influence of snake and ladder game's stimulation on alteration of children's knowledge about DHF. This study was a quasy experimental research. The sample criteria were as follows: patient of DHF aged 11-12 years get preparation of discharge planning, grade 1 and 2 ofDHF. Sample size were 13 persons received intervention and the other 13 respondents received nothing. Instruments were using structural interview with questionnaire. Study location was at Pavilion V dr. Ramelan Navy Hospital Surabaya Data were collected at August 2010. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney test. The result showed that in the end of study, the level of knowledge in intervention group mostly in good category and in control group mostly in adequate category. There was significant difference in level of knowledge before and after intervention (p=O.OO 1). In those control group, in the beginning and the end of this study there was no difference in level of knowledge (p=0.421). There was significant difference in knowledge (p=O.OOI) between respondents receiving intervention and those receiving nothing. It can be concluded that snake and ladder game's stimulation had influenced the alteration of children's knowledge about DHF. The suggestions in this study were for further studies should involve larger respondents and better measurement tools to obtain more accurate results.
