Summary: | Angiogenesis is the most important for cancer growth, since angiogenesis serves to supply oxygen and nutrition for cancerous cells. Therefore inhibition of angiogenesis is one of strategy for treating cancer. This study was aim to determine the activity of various doses of Curcuma zedoria extract as an antiangiogenesis through barriers VEGF expression in vascular endothelial cell on chorioallantoic membrane of embryonated chicken eggs. Embryonated chicken eggs used were nine days old, were treated by bFGF and ethanolic extractof white turmeric rhizome. All embryonated chicken eggs used were incubated for three days and than observed the angiogenesis response. Based on research conducted showed that ethanolic extract of white turmeric ( Curcuma zedoria) is able to inhibit angiogenesis in TAB proportional to the dose of the extract tested. Angiogenesis response to doses of 60,75,90 and 110 μg each sequence is equal (in%) 123.00d ± 13.63, 96.00c ± 7.78, and 60.00b ± 7.48, 42, oo• ± 10.98 (P <0.05). These results indicate that the ethanolic extract of white turmeric ( Curcuma zedoria) have anti- angiogenic effects. |
