Summary:Pulmonary TB disease is one of infectious diseases, required behavior of pulmonary TB prevention. The role of family in providing care in patients with pulmonary TB accordance with the duties in the implementation of family health. Design used in this study was cross sectional design. The population was pulmonary TB patients and their family in working area Tambakrejo public health centre Surabaya. Total sample was 30 respondents, taken according to inclusion criteria. The independent variable was family role. The dependent variabel was behavior of Pulmonary TB patients in prevention of pulmonary TB transmisions. Data were collected using structured questionnaire and respondent observation. Data were then analyzed using spearman rho test with level significance of S 0,05. Result showed that family role had correlation with knowledge of pulmonary TB patients (p = 0,006), the family role had correlation with an attitude of them (p = 0,022), and family role had correlation with action of them in prevention transmission of pulmonary TB (p = 0,017). This study concluded that family role has correlation to prevention behavior of pulmonary TB transmisions. The result of this study can be a suggestion for implementation of nursing care for more empower family role to preventive behavior of pulmonary TB transmisions can be lowered.
