Summary:Industry in accessing intranet as internal medium of organization, www.intranet.kemenperin.go.id. In identifying the motives, researcher uses Uses and Gratifications Theory as framework of analysis. To fulfill their needs in running the organization, employers of Ministry of Industry accesses intranet. In understanding the motives of employers in fulfilling these needs, researcher applies motives of using internet by Papacharissi and Rubin, i.e. personal utility, passing time, information seeking, convenience, and entertainment. For the similar characteristics between internet and intranet, researcher uses these particular motives to identify motives of employers of Ministry of Industry in accessing intranet. The study is a survey research which its primary data taken from questionnaire distribution. Result of study shows all motives i.e. personal utility, passing time, information seeking, convenience, and entertainment are motives of employers of Ministry of Industry in accessing intranet. Information seeking is the most salient motif.
