Description
Summary:South Sulawesi is one of the provinces in Indonesia which has number of release from treatment (RFT) of 78.37% which has not reached the target MDT treatment outcomes set by the Ministry of Health until 2013 MDT treatment in patients with MB leprosy type is activity swallowing MDT taking medication intensively for 12 months for patients with type MB leprosy in South Sulawesi. MB type of leprosy can not cause death, but when it does not cause disability MDT treatment, psychosocial issues, stigma, and decreased productivity. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect treatment in patients with leprosy MDT MB type and create a mathematical model of the MDT treatment in the province of South Sulawesi. The research method used is cross sectional. The sample consisted of 47 samples to Makassar City and District Pangkep. Results: The factors that influence medication adherence is a significant MDT health behavior variables; knowledge (p = 0.000), health variables; the role of health workers (p = 0.003) availability of drugs (p = 0.001), and the factor of medication adherence to MDT treatment (p = 0.000). Based on these results can be made mathematical models of the most dominant factor is a variable of knowledge, the role of health workers and the availability of drugs, then the value of the model obtained 98% probability of a type of MB leprosy patients who have good knowledge, the role of health workers and the availability of good MDT drugs are always available in the clinic. Conclusions: Characteristics of the highest gender is male, 17-28 years of productive age, elementary education level, respondents worked as a worker and low income levels. Significant variable is the variable of knowledge, the role of health workers and availability of medicines. Suggestions: needs to be increased awareness of the type of MB leprosy patients for treatment MDT, leprosy communication to the officer at the level of health centers and health promotion needs to be upgraded to the patient in the form of the distribution lefleat UKS at school and at school.
