Summary: | The purpose of this study was to evaluate the histopathological changes in renal of New Zealand White rabbit after ischemia-reperfusion injury on limb and ischemia-reperfusion injury on limb giving hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Twenty four male rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) aged 6 - 8 months with BW 2000-2500 g were used. These animals were divided into four groups: P0A were treated ischemia (6 hours) then reperfusion injury (100 minutes), P0B were treated ischemia (6 hours) then reperfusion injury (150 minutes), P1A were treated ischemia (6 hours) then reperfusion injury (100 minutes) with hyperbaric oxygen therapy 90 minutes, dan P1B were treated ischemia (6 hours) then reperfusion injury (150 minutes) with hyperbaric oxygen therapy 90 minutes. The experimental animals dissected and taken to the renal organ preparation made histopathologis ren of rabbit. The tubular dilatation and vacuolization data were compared using Kruskal –Wallis test, if there is a real difference will be followed by Mann Whitney test. The necrosis data were compared using t Test. Statistical analysis using SPSS v 20.0 for windows. The result showed that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy significantly caused tubular dilatation, vacuolization, and necrosis of the renal histopathology (p<0,05). In conclusion, hyperbaric oxygen therapy has not benefical effect on renal histopathological changes due to ischemia-reperfusion injury. |
