Summary:Isolation and identification of tritepenoid compound from ethyl asetate extract of Swietenia Mahagoni (L.) Jacq. had been done. Dried seed of the plant (640g) was extracted successively with ethanol 96% (49 g). The ethanol 96% was partitioned between water and n-hexane, next step water phase was partitioned with ethyl acetate (21,5 g). the ethyl acetate fraction was sparated respectively by vacuum liquid chromatography and column chromatography to get compound. The X compound was identified using FTIR, 1H-RMI and 13C-RMI spectroscopy. Based on the data spectra, we conclude that X compound is similar with Swietenine E.
