Summary: | The development of precocious lines of Eimeria sp can be used as alternative controlling to
Eimeria sp infection by vaccination. The present study was purposed to know potency of precocious lines of E. tenella that were gotten by serial passage in increasing protection and resistance of chicken on parent strain of E. tenella infection. Thirty two broilers at three weeks
old were divided into two groups, each group consisted sixteen broilers. The first sixteen broilers was inoculated with 1 x 104 oocysts parent strain of E. tenella as positive control group, The second sixteen broilers were challenged the same dose as the control group which
two weeks before were administered precocious lines of E. tenella of dose I x 104 oocysts. On
post infection, half of total of each broiler group was sacrified at four days post infection for
observation of cecal lesion score and histopathological changes. Whereas half of the other
broiler group was examined oocyst production from day 7 up to 12 post infection. The result research showed that the second group had a few oocyst production, limited histopathological change and disappears lesion score, while the first group was high oocyst production, clear
histopathological change and lesion score.
